CBB Cricket Club

The CBBs were formed in 2000 while on tour in Penang. This is tour 58 and is a "B" Tour as we have toured to this tournament in Bangkok before. The club has a proud background in touring, as you will note that in 11 years, we have now had so many tours. Presently Bob "Tiny" Phillips is the Most Esteemed President (MEP) of the club, with Previous Past Presidents (PPPs), Ray "Lemon-Yellow" Matti & Wally "Whale" Pohl guiding the club over the first 10 years of the club.

We have won various divisions at many tournaments over the years; however the main function of the club is to tour as friends, to enjoy ourselves while still respecting the wonderful game which is cricket.

Feel free to pop into out tent over the weekend for a drink, a Vodka Slammer or a Bloody Mary on Sunday morning, we really enjoy visitors to say hello.

Tim "Socrates" Caimakamis
Always an asset on any CBB Tour. Works hard to add his touch to the tour, great with collecting the cash and loves to be there. Will be Tour Treasurer for 2011 in Bangkok.

Mark Synnott
A CBB Tour Virgin, based in Phuket but originally from Tasmania. Really enjoys his cricket, loves the game and it is brilliant that Mark will be with us the CBBs in Bangkok this year.

Cyrus "Vyrus" Maybud
There is sadly now some doubt that Vyrus will be able to join us this year. A solid CBB supporter, Life Member, really shows the spirit which is the CBBs going forward.

Siva "Goons" Sathanandan
Goons recently joined us the CBBs in Penang and is with BJ looking to tour much more often for Sixes tournament in the future. Is a perfect CBB suspect and keen to gain Full Membership very soon. Maybe the new marriage has contributed to his future cricket energy?

Beverley-Joyce "BJ" Sathanandan
BJ is a guiding light when it comes to the CBBs and our tours. She loves cricket and is keen to have her Debut on the field this year at Bangkok. Such a pleasant person and always nice to be around, especially during Slammer Sessions??

Andrew Charles
Another CBB Virgin who after touring in Pattaya & Penang this year, is very keen to find his CBB legs and gain Full Membership in 2012. A keen Rugby League fan from Sydney, also loves the aspects of fun and fair play which is a part of ACST Cricket Sixes events.

Jamie "the Big Marn" Sharpe
The Big Marn I hear is close to challenging Tiny for the largest shirt on tour competition? A Tour Virgin who feels that Slammer Sessions will be right down his path?? Sounds to be the kind of contributor that the CBBs always need on tour, especially in Bangkok.

Michael "Cat" Maher
The Old Man Emu of the group, Cat has a passion for this event, as he has been to all 4. Enjoys Bangkok as a city, loves staying at the Chaophya Park Hotel and will be keen to again make the most of what is a brilliant tournament.

Steve "Crunch" Christie
The word is that Crunch is making a much awaited return to the CBBs in Bangkok 2011. Always a huge tour contributor and has been a part of CBB Cup Winning teams in both Shanghai & Hong Kong in the past. A true gentleman, I know hard to believe within the CBB structure.

Ken "Taj" Acton
Another guy who this year proudly gained his CBB Membership, Taj really enjoys Thailand and the tournaments held there. Still pondering on how he left Reject in the opening spot in one of last years final against the CBB SC's, we will never forget that look in his eye!

Brian "Flemo" Shaw
Flemo is backing up yet again for this event in Bangkok. Is becoming a Cricket Sixes PRO nowadays, in between digging the diamonds out of the ground in the north of Western Australia. Will always do whatever he can to make the tour & the event even better.

Andrew "Fred" Firman
Hails from Yorkshire, England, is a brave man that felt he has to return to this event in Bangkok and go to the next level with the CBBs. Truly brave and prepared to do this for the team, show that the north side of the dividing line means a lot for the CBB cause!

Tony "Swiss" Rutherford
Another of Chops mates from England, Swiss is very keen to use his knowledge, skills and abilities to ensure that full advantage is taken this year for the event in Bangkok. It is felt that possibly he will be the "dark horse" CBB wise for this year's tour.

Tom Roubos
Another CBB Tour Virgin from Adelaide. More known for his share options and money issues, but assures us that his ability to clobber the ball, bowl maidens over and withstand the pressures of Bangkok nightlife with be the highlight of his touring abilities.

Theo Sartzidis
Now been promoted to the Virgin Status after a most affective tour to Singapore with the CBBs in June. Enjoyed it so much, he swore that he was going to be with us for Bangkok. Like Tom, Theo has the Greek Connection, which puts him in a similar league as Socrates, GI and Animal.

Jeraj "T2" Puvaneshen
T2 will again be with us to give some Youth Connection on tour. Is a Very Keen student when it comes to CBB Touring. Has now got an impressive background on CBB Touring, with last January's Waratah 7s Tournament being a brilliant highlight for him.

Garry Foster
Always a pleasure to welcome Gaz on tour in Bangkok. Loves the city, enjoys a good laugh and a nice show. Is a very keen helper and prepared to be a part of the event. Welcome back Garry. Comes all the way from Newcastle, NSW along with his other Waratah mates.

Trevor "Warby" Warburton
A welcome back to Warby after a year umpiring in England. Has toured with CBBs a number of times and became a proud member a few years ago. Loves Bangkok and spends some time living there in his house there.

Ray "Lemon" Matti
At this stage, our PPP Lemon-Yellow is not fully confirmed for this year's event, as he has been stuck in Europe for a much enjoyed summer. All reports are that he is stronger than ever and Anything may happen this year if he makes it back for this year.

Max "Animal" Osman
Hopefully Animal will be able to get away from Wollongong and join us again for this years event. The Prime Examples of CBB Greek Touring abilities, he has set the bar at a Very High level over many years of touring to Thailand. Let's see if the others can live up to it?

Darrell "Monster" Mepham
Word is that Monster has a new lease on life and will show us a thing or two at this year's tournament in Bangkok. A proven performer over many years with the CBBs, it will be interesting to see what else he can add to his impressive touring history!

Ian "Reds" Liddell
Reds proudly gained his CBB Life Membership this year 2011 & truly much deserved. Is CBB Life Member number 8, has done us proud by his on-going efforts as Club Treasurer, as well as being the Only CBB player to have scored a 100 on tour (119 on the North America Tour).

Wanna Liddell
Proudly married to our Life Member Reds, Wanna this year I believe has been promoted to a Full Member within the CBBs. Is able to add some humour to CBBs tours and is a pleasure to have around. Always has a smile and is happy to help.

Waqas Mohammad Riaz
A Very keen and excited player, traveling from Bahrain to join us. Is keen for some enjoyable cricket, looking forward to the fun and banter of the CBBs and tells me that he will keep up with everyone. He is a welcome addition to the CBBs and may become T3 in the future I believe.

Nabeel Inayatulla
Nabeel is not confirmed as yet, but we hope he can make it to Bangkok and like Waqas be a welcome addition to some youth and legs within the CBBs, as not many around.

Daniel "7/11" Way
7/11 loves staying at the Chaophya Park Hotel as it is very easy for him to get his supplies at the convenience store in the car park. Always around with supplies to make the Slammer sessions more pleasant and also to contribute to the late night drinking sessions.

Bob "Tiny" Phillips
Our MEP who is trying his very best to be with us in Bangkok this year. Has been through an interesting year in Bahrain, but as usual simply deals with it. Very keen on vodka and Slammer Sessions, hopefully the Virgin's this year may learn a little from the expert.

Mahesh Kumar
Mahesh has been wanting to join the CBBs on tour for a couple of years and finally gets the chance to join us. He is a part of the Singapore cricket set-up, loves the game and will I am sure enjoy his time with us in Bangkok for this event.

Rajeswari "Dianne" Pasupathy
Dianne was sponsored by CBB Members in February to travel to Adelaide for her cricket development, experience and training. She was very excited to learn so much while there and is now most excited to be able to join us the CBBs on tour.

Vigineswari "Vicki" Pasupathy
Vicki was also in Adelaide and as a very keen cricketer, took full advantage of this development opportunity. She starred with the ball right afterwards in an ICC tournament in Kuwait where she was the second best bowler out of all countries at the event.

Wally "Whale" Pohl
The original PPP and CBB Life Member, we hope will be able to arrange to be with us in Bangkok this year. Always brilliant to have with us and has been a big part of the CBBs & touring over the years since our inception in 2000.

Steve Walker
Always welcome back to this Bangkok event, always has a smile, got the camera out taking brilliant photographs. Lives in Bangkok, he has become our local storage unit which of course very much appreciated by us all.

Dan Brightwell
Joining us for the first time in Bangkok after a couple of enjoyable years in Phuket at that event. A level headed guy who will I am sure be challenged by his first CBB Slammer Session. A big welcome to you Dan!

Adriana Hooper
Friend of Dan Brightwell, her first time to a CBB tour. Will we are sure enjoy the event and the usual excellent banter of the CBB crew.

Warren "Wokka" Pugh & Fon
The soon to be married Wokka & Fon are very much welcomed to this year's tournament. An exciting time for them both and a prime opportunity to wish them both well into the future for their marriage. Wokka is certainly a legend when if goes back to CBB Folklore!

Rob "Chops" Bernard
It is exciting that Chops has been able to adjust his leave from the London Underground and again join us for this tournament. He has been a big part of the event since the first year & it would not have been the same without him being with us. Always the classic with throw-away lines, Reds & I are wondering if there will be a chance for new rating statistics for Reject!

High Life Management Pen portraits

Saurav "Boss" Chatterjee
Dollywood as he is better known on the ACST tour will be leading his team on High Life's first overseas tour. "BOSS" will have his hands full with this team as they all play anything but cricket, but they are hoping he will show them the way on and off the field. The rest of the team are also stocking up on ear muffs to escape his ranting and raving that seems to have become a part of him since he's become a veteran.

Bradley "Jack Daniels" Williams
Brad is known more for his Hockey and Football skills, but is being forced to come out of retirement from his cricketing career to prop up the team in Bangkok. Brad is a very accurate bowler, but unfortunately for him he's a batsman who often dons the pads but rarely gets to use the bat. He will be asking his good friend- Jack Daniels- for a little help to see him through his batting woes.

Gaurav "Casanova" Anthoney
Ole as he is better known to everyone in office is the man with a million dollar smile. So would like to warn all the ladies (lady boys included) to watch out for the smiling assassin. A self proclaimed all rounder in the game of cricket, but we're sure he will score more off the field than on (depending on how well his credit card is doing).

Ajay "Motormouth" Biswas
Ajay is a very talented and semi professional rugby player (don't get fooled by his size or lack of it). He will be making his debut in cricket. Ajay can talk for hours at a stretch without breaking into a sweat. Hopefully these skills will come in handy against all the other sixes teams, who won't understand a word he says or get a word in. "Boss" is training him personally in the sledging department.

Debaditya "Muffet" Sinha Roy
Deba is the most talented cricketer we have (or so he says and truly believes). To be honest, he bats like Phil Tuffnell and bowls like Geoff Boycott's mum. He is the in-house jack of all trades but claims to be the master of all. So we have provided the grandest of stages for him to showcase his undeniable talent. The only thing we can vouch for is his ability to finish 3 plates of Biryani in a record 5 minutes.

Akshay "Mitter" Ashok
Akshay is now a battle scarred veteran of Thailand, having been on several soccer, tennis and ACST trips here. Fortunately, the only scars are around his burgeoning waist and places unseen. Akshay will be remembered in ACST and CBB folklore for bowling a wicket maiden in Phuket (the wicket being of a person in the same team list- no prizes for guessing who). Akshay will be the team tour guide and going by recent experience means they're all gonna be lost and hungry.

Cyrus "GM" Confectioner
Cyrus is digging deep into the mothballs and looking for whites which he last used when Tiger Pataudi was India's captain. He's hoping he won't be called into action, but as a connoisseur of cheap fags and cheaper alcohol, he's bound to be noticed over the weekend. Rumour has it that he's been forced to make the trip so that "Boss" doesn't feel like a fossil compared to the rest of the team

Robert "Chops" Bernard
Since High Life Management makes a living out of talent spotting, we had to sign on the biggest talent to ever emerge in the North of England and on ACST tours. Having interacted with the boys closely on several occasions for ACST magazines, websites and other inconsequential stuff, Chops was our perfect choice for overseas recruit. (He will however have to show up to give the rest of the team fielding and bowling lessons, and only then, will Reject not be hired)

Missing in action:

Rasheed "Load and unload" Jeejeebhoy
Rasheed unfortunately missed out on this trip as he has just become the first official father in our office. Rash is one of the highest consumers of rice globally, who will be missed by the farmers of Thailand, who heeded the Thai government's advice who were warned of a possible shortfall. Rasheed has however asked (rather demanded) that the rest of the boys stock up on his collection of dodgy porn.

Jason "Suicidal" Smith:
The mascot and most popular toy of the office-Jason- is missing this trip for a very suicidal reason. He ignored the advice of all the married (and once married) men in the office and decided to tie the knot. We just hope he stays away from all the old women and young boys at his wedding. Jason will be missed for his athleticism on the field, but not missed for the damage he could do to our reputations in Soi Cowboy.

Koh Chang Cowboys

A mixture of waifs and strays who have found themselves castaway on the Tropical island of Koh Chang, make the international debut at The Thailand International Cricket Sixes. A few familiar faces in this team who have played in a few other tournaments, augmented by tournament newbies. Cricket in Koh Chang is played on the beach, and normally involves large quantities of beer, jaegermeister and bullshit.

The Cowboys are proudly sponsored by Paddy's Palms Pub, Koh Changs very own Irish Pub and would like to say a big thank you to Eddie and Tony (Turdsak) for allowing us to be associated with them. www.paddyspalmspub.com

It looks like The Cowboys will be well supported by some local characters as this bunch of beach cricketers look to leave their mark, or more likely stain.

Martin "Marty" Peters
One of the original Thailand International cricket sixes crew, now representing a third different team in this tournament, following a successful 2008 tournament. The team "Counselor" will have his work cut out this time. Still bowling pasties and pies, and known for some interesting batting, will be looking to redeem himself this year with a more consistent approach on the field. Unlikely to be particularity bothered about trying to reason with the rest of this crew.

Dave " Felon" Fell
The pink faced one is another tournament veteran. Known for causing problems off the field - including the now notorious "Panic room and Gold Bracelet incident in Phuket 2006". Useful batsmen when he gets angry, and will be the main wicketkeeper as he's probably the only person who can actually catch in this team.

Noel Matthews
Back in Bangkok again after several years residing in Singapore, this graceful left handed batsman is well known in Soi Cowboy, although no one ever sees him leave. Likely to be the quietest member of this team, but will be an experienced guide for all those new to Bangkok.

Roger "Mark Knopfler" Brennan
The Dire Straits loving resident artist of Koh Chang. Known for his machine like ability to drink lots of Jaegermeister and still hold a fairly intelligent conver- s a t i o n , which marks him out as different in this team. Has been practicing a lot for this tournament - although most of it in the bar. Is hoping to come out to bat to the sound of "Money for Nothing".

Andy "Monkey" Clays
Cliff Richards number one fan, do not let him near any Ipod or music appliance. A classic batsman who doesn't believe in running as it's too tiring, and is normally suffering from a big hangover. Has reduced intake of Jaegers these days, as they make him a bit squiffy. Beware if he is loitering in the car park, as he likely to be eying up the wheels and hubcaps.

Andy "The Wrist"
A barrel of cricketing laughs, likely to be at the tournament on the first day, and then will go AWOL. Has more excuses than a ppolitician for not making games. Generally seen rolling from La Cabra to 15 Palms for Sunset drinks every day, and not a lot else. Has been known to cause a few problems for batsmen, especially with his running between the wickets.

Dave Hinchliffe
Koh Changs very own Steven Segal lookalike, also the most intelligent man on Koh Chang and - he actually owns a book store!! Some questions about his availability, but more likely that he doesn't want to be associated with us. Check his Koh Chang guide book out, for all the latest on The Rock.

Ricky Ponting
We're not sure really what his name is, as most of what he says is unintelligible. Loves Rick Ponting very much, and models his bowling on Mitchell Johnson. Has endured a tough few months since The Ashes, but as the token Aussie very much an integral part of our piss taking.

Martin "Buzza" Busswell (Fielding Coach)
Well known for his expert fielding - such as his shorts falling down, or himself collapsing in a heap. It's been heard that he "couldn't catch herpes", but will be offering coaching to all interested teams for the price of a beer or six.

There's likely to be a few other penciled in as well, especially with rumours of free food, as they converge back into Bangkok for a weekend. We all look forward to having a few beers with all the teams in Bangkok, especially at our Bangkok watering hole The Crossbar on Soi 23.

MG7

MG 7 is a new team founded by Mahmoud Abdullah, better known as MG. Number 7 exists, because every year MG sponsors a 7 A Side Tournament, hence MG7. The team consists mainly of social players, whom will play hard on and off the ground. Their talent off the field will be better known when there is a "slammer session ". The average age of the team is in the late 40's. The team comes from Kuwait having different nationalities, but this is not a problem because they are united under the banner of "Friendship through Cricket ", and many hard drinks. Cricket is in their blood, so they are there to give the strongest team a hard time. So watch out for MG 7.

Mahmoud the "MG" ( Captain )
MG is a handsome, clean looking Kuwaiti whom could easily be mistaken for AlPicino or Kevin Costner. At 55 years old , he is a very athletic wicket keeper who will make any 20 year old wicket keepers feel ashamed. Steady batsman with beautiful ground shots. Don't take him round the town if you looking to pick a date, because with his looks and charms you will lose the girls to him. And definitely don't put a bottle of Chevas near him, it will say goodbye to you before you know it.

Melwyn the "Alvin"
A very dedicated cricketer whom will never say no to a game of cricket on any day of the week. Don't under estimate his size he can easily hit you out of the ground for six. And as for his spin bowling, he has claimed many big scalps. But he is better known for his drinking friendship with MG. With these two around, you should definitely invite them for a "slammer session ". They don't know when to stop. Don't be fooled, they will drink you under the table and walk straight to the next bar.

Arun the "Arrow"
A big guy with a big heart as he bowls his big leg breaks, funny by nature & never short of a joke to bring a smile to everyone around. Capable of clearing the fence at ease with his big hitting skills .The "Arrow "is heading East so watch out for loads of fun -Cheers.

Mandeep "Johnny"
Very reliable batsman especially when things are not going very well. He has many different shots that will baffle any bowler, fast slow, spin does not make any difference to Johnny, and he will go for them. Good bowler and has very safe hands when catches are going his way. Not much of a drinker, but will join the party. Well you always want one guy to be sober to look after the rest. He has a sweet and kind way with kids so children love this guy, and he loves them. Newly married, so hope he will not miss his lovely too much, and make his mark on this tour with the bat and ball.

Edward "EDO"
Edo eats and breaths cricket, so please don't talk to him about anything else. He recently had the LAZIC operation, and now his sight is so good that improved his bowling, he is one of the very few to claim a hat rick, which of course won the match for us. Although he comes lower down in the batting order, but that means nothing, he can score runs easily with his fluent shots. Edo always gives 100% on the field and always there for the team, never puts himself first. However, he needs to improve on his drinking habit.

Ahmad "The Wall"
Know to be cricket wall of Brahrain. This muscular person eats and breaths cricket. Always first to be in the ground and cool as cucumber. He joins MG7 club for international matches. Entertaining character with thousand of runs under his belt which includes couple of double hundreds, when he swings his bat ball is out of sight.

Pattaya Cricket Club

Pattaya Cricket Club was established in 2010 by a group of cricket enthusiasts of all ages and abilities whose objective was to promote and develop cricket in the Pattaya region. Having recently celebrated the Club's first anniversary it is with great pride the club can look back over the past 18 months and report it has enjoyed a year that has surpassed all expectations and ambitions. Pattaya Stallions

Simon 'Sensible' Philbrook (Captain)
The Pattaya Cricket Club Chairman and Captain Sensible who possesses an unenviable ability to win the toss rather than the match. A right handed batsman who first graced a Thailand sixes tournament in 1989 as a slim, athletic, teenage cricketer who now perfectly impersonates an overweight, immobile, 40 something ex cricketer. However, he still believes he is the former.

Sunny 'Assassin' Hanif
The club's ultimate all-rounder who will open the batting, open the bowling and keep wicket. He always plays with a smile on his face and will be a prime candidate for any man of the match award.

Hansie 'Sixes' Diwansingh
Another club all-rounder, but more of the 'round' rather than 'all' variety. A right handed batsman with a natural ability to time the ball who is perfectly suited to sixes cricket. Keep an eye out for his leg breaks, particularly if you are sat in the crowd!

Shan 'Don't Rush Me' Khan
Possibly the laziest cricketer to grace a cricket field, that is when he has eventually arrived. When the day comes we are convinced he will be late for his own funeral. However, an expert left arm bowler who will keep the batsman guessing with his fine repertoire of deliveries and needless to say only tries to score in boundaries.

Debdas 'Jonty'Mondal
An expert in all aspects of the game. His fielding is unbelievable as many a batsman will testify with run out next to their name, can play all the shots and bowls very tidily.

'I Love Sixes' Yasir
A player so suited to sixes cricket he is first on the team sheet. He has only played a handful of matches for PCC but already tops the six hitting table. He can also bowl very briskly and never drops a catch. Oops, shouldn't of said that! You always know if he is playing when there is a pretty young lady in the supporter's tent and a sports car in the car park.

Salman 'Quick step' Khan
The bowler with the world record for the most steps in a run up, currently 39 and a half. He has perfected this art over the years so well that super slow-mo is now needed to count them. And his running between the wickets is something to behold - it's amazing how many steps can be taken over 22 yards in such a LONG period of time!

Usman 'Darts' Ghani
Appearances can be deceptive with this left arm seam bowler, whose nickname comes from bowling with impeccable accuracy rather than his figure resembling a world darts champion, but the mistake is understandable. A vital member of the Stallions bowling attack and leading wicket taker. He has also been known to hit the ball out of the ground. Pattaya Thoroughbreds

Andy 'Boots' Emery (Captain)
The nickname gives it away. If he has the right boots on he can be a devastating swing bowler, if he has the wrong boots on its spectators watch out and he starts blaming his sore feet. He bats with brave gusto...I think?

Pavit 'The Kit' Grover
You need it, Pavit can get it. The Club's equipment supplier and most enthusiastic cricketer. He also plays goalkeeper for the local football team - see if you can spot the difference when he keeps wicket

Skylark Cricket Club

Skylark Cricket Club was formed in 1976 in Kuwait by some cricket enthusiasts. It went from strength to strength and has won my trophies in Kuwait during the past 10 years. The team is very eager to participate in this year's six a side tournament in Bangkok, and want to take the CUP back to Kuwait. All the players are young, willing, serious and capable. With the serious cricket also comes serious fun, they will not say NO to any function or drinking sessions. The average age is just below 30 years, so watch out for SKYLARK.

Razzak the "RAZ"
You will forget about Bom Bom Afridi, after you see RAZ hitting the 6s. Young, 6 foot tall, slim, well built, no wonder the balls will disappear out of the ground. When he bowls, you better have your helmets on, the ball will pass your ears so fast that you will not only feel the breeze but hear the ball whizzing past. His only down side, being a tee total, but is it. He is there to win the CUP, so he will need all his senses at all times.

Casino the "CAS"
Do not ever gamble against CAS. All rounder, has so many different batting varieties, ground shots and sky shots that will go out of the grounds. Has won many games single handedly. If you are a wicket keeper you better be alert for stumping, his leg spin will definitely invite the batsman to attack him, and he will miss for sure. Very athletic in the field has a pair of hands look like wicket keepers gloves, never drops a catch. Likes a drink and to party, so it is not all that bad.

Vinod "Click"
You will not see "click" anywhere without his camera, so is the name "click ". He loves taking photos any where he goes. Soft spoken, very polite with a baby face. But don't be fooled. As a batsman, when he "clicks" he can easily score 50's in no time and as wicket keeper he is second to none. He has one big problem, he has a big soft spot for Tequilas. So keep them away, well it depends whose side you're on.

Simon the "King Of Swing"
S for Simon S for Swing! A shy dude with a shy smile, popularly known as the "king of Swing" as he literally makes the ball talk when he's bowling offering plenty of swing, a safe & agile fielder & no mug with bat. He always is busy waiting to share a joke.

Ostine "Roy"
Extremely athletic, energetic as always in the midst of cricketing action. Prefers opening the batting and bowls some part time spin. An evergreen cricketer with plenty of Tattoos & is ready to play the game anytime and anywhere. In day light he enjoys keeping the Scorers busy & after dawn the bartenders busy.

Nasar "The - Dasher"
Posses the looks of a Hollywood rock Star & happens to be the fittest on the block with the strongest fielding arm, a fancy opening bat with all his chicky & innovative short selection, nothing less to match his very handy off spin. Has a funny sense of humor on & off the field.

SOUTHERNERS CC

A cricket club quite well know around Thailand and in the SE Asia region. Southerners are always up for a tour anywhere let it be a 6s competition or an 11 a side game hence the club is keen to enter again in this year's Thailand International 6s. Mind you with the 6s being at the Southerners own ground, it would be quite expected that the club enter a team and would be all prepared weeks out with players selected, kits decided, warm up games played and analyzed and everything in full swing ready to go..............well, in reality, same same but different as the saying goes here. Two weeks away at time of writing and we have not got a single player confirmed hence this general write up!! We can travel to China, Chiang Mai, Singapore and Vietnam and have always had great pre-planning but when it comes to organizing these blokes to travel 10 minutes up the road, it's like getting blood from a stone! Some may just say it is a ploy not to release names until game day......as President of this club, it is more like trying dragging their butts out of bed (or the bars) on game day.

Notable inclusions could be:

Shane Thompson
Known affectionately as WG but most likely will be the Bar Manager for the weekend.

Vaughan McClear
Daddy V is finding his speed these days lacking so may be resigned again to assisting WG at the Bar. May bring the kit along for a small flurry of batting.

Gaurav
Little G as commonly called. Must apologies, Gaurav is the only one to confirm his availability at time of writing.

Leigh Whitten
Defected from the CBB's

Lanka Lions Cricket Club

Formed in 2006 Lanka Lions Cricket Club have already established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Singapore cricket scene having won the Division One League for the past four years.

This is the third appearance by Lanka Lions at the tournament and as in 2009 the Lanka Lions are fielding two teams: the LANKA LIONS and the DRUNK(ER) LIONS.

In keeping with the tournament's "Friendship Through Cricket" theme Lanka Lions brings a diverse tour party this year that includes both school boys and veterans, those with first class experience and others with no cricket experience in the last decade.

Sanjaya de Silva
A third year veteran of the tour
The cricket obviously being the lure
Beer is the van
For this outspoken fan
In the next life he'll sure be a brewer

Uresh Perera
His second year in this nook,
More like a ruggerite he does look
His weight loss program,
you will know off hand,
if you add him on Facebook

Vivek Vedagiri
This wicket-keeping batsman sensation
Has a cool head and plenty of patience
Such a team man
That knowing the demand
Added a baby to the Singapore population

Mithila Rajapakse
A qualified coach in his own right
Oft troubling bowler of left armed flight
but this man needs reminding
that his mobile needs charging
at least to last through the night

Wajira Wickramasinghe
The Mr. nice guy of the team
Is a mean bowler of seam
His first time in Bangkok
But he definitely won't block
I expect his scores will not be lean

Asanga Perera
This portly man who won't hurt a fly
Was once a cricket star, I do not lie
But bowl at his pot
and hit the soft spot
u will lose the ball to his hook shot

Mohan Meegolla
The President of the club is he
always aspires to be
amongst bowlers the best
but he bats as if in a test
and while fielding he'd rather take a knee

Chamira Fernando
An out-swinger so wily and classy
Will make you an iPhone App if need be
Can bat out an innings
And bring us to winnings
While dreaming of his home by the sea

TM Sampath
Bowls beautiful off spinners with loop
Has a brother who invented the dil-scoop
He is equipped
with a fiery wit
so usually around him gathers our troop

Kaushal Lokuarachi
A former test player is he
a leg spinning prodigy
His first time here
so give him a beer
before he gets on the field

Thushara Kodikara
This man who opens the bowling
Bats like a dream too
And when you find out
How old he is
I'm sure you will feel like a fool

Suresh Navaratnam
Probably the fastest in South East Asia
Will knock your stump off - I warned ya
Then to rub salt to the wound
He'll hit you to the moon
And sing "Malaysia - truly Asia"

Mohanavelu Jeevanathan
The most stressed out person at any match
walks around the boundary with an isotonic batch
But when he takes the field
the legend reveals
that he might even take a catch

Ranjith Senanayake
Affectionately known as mama
Has Bangkok under his whim
You won't see him
Bowling spin
But he will be the man of the match at Jungle Jim's

Lamma Cricket Club - Hong Kong

Lamma Cricket Club have played in the Saturday League in Hong Kong for 10 years. We have a relatively new squad for the Bangkok Sixes making it difficult for the bookmakers. Our two teams in the Hong Kong Invitational Sixes last year came first and last. We don't warm up and we don't sleep, so keep an eye out late in the evenings for the boys from the LCC !

Ian Beck
Becks will lead the LammaCC rif-raf. Out of shape he is hoping to drink himself back into form in Bangkok. Is looking forward to the Aussies winning the world cup final.

Mark Burns
Coming off a recent 96*. Monty is a cool head under pressure whether on the pitch or backing his mates up in a brawl. A smart bowler who is always looking for the reverse sweep.

Ben Cooper
MC is always quick with a joke or the light of a smoke, but there is no place that he would rather be than Bangkok. Booming inswingers, cow corner and fines master.

Tom Callahan
Sleeper batted us to a 10 wicket win recently. He will have trouble adapting to the sixes format (both on and off the field). Starts slowly, but is unstoppable once going.

Andy Fullard
Tour virgin - Keen as mustard and getting married next year. Andy is looking to deliver on recent promises. Andy will talk his way out of any trouble that Monty can't handle.

Andrew Scott
Tour virgin - Plays with a straight bat and will be the gloveman for LammaCC. A bit on an unknown quantity but one of the first to put his hand up to tour.
