Taran Persaud – Tournament Official

I should have been in touch with you before to say what a great tournament that you Guys put on. It was a pleasure to be a part of it and I enjoyed every moment, everyone was so friendly.

Rob "Chops" Bernard – Beer Battered Seadogs / England & Tournament Official

I would just like to pass on my thanks both personally and from the Beer Battered Seadogs for the recent event in Bangkok, to you and everyone who made it happen. We had a great time with lots of laughs and just the right amount of cricket. Credit to you for the planning.

The late Friday night change and offering finger food and beers was a great gesture and emphasised the ACST's fortitude and resourcefulness. The Saturday evening meal was top class as ever as was the hog roast on the Sunday evening.

We did make lots of friends over the weekend and I was proud of my boys being at the ground from the first to last bus on two of the three days, supporting the event.

Tracy & James Walker – Tournament Official

"Saturday Special was a day at the cricket 6s including coaching from Imran & Dolly, throwing & catching balls with everyone, generally running around like crazy. Followed by drinks & dinner (choc cake!) at the official dinner & photos with everyone possible. Can't believe mum didn't take any!!!"

Thanks Cat for the awesome organization and sharing the "friendship" through cricket across the globe.

We really have made good friends across the various teams coming for this event.

We, as the HK Challengers United, had great time and fun and we are eagerly waiting for Phuket 6's coming next.

David Taylor - Peoples Royal International Cricket Club Sanya (PRICCS) / China

Hi Cat. Thanks also for a top-draw effort in providing a great fun tournament in Bangkok recently.

Our squad can't stop talking about it. In fact the whole village of Sanya think it is great.

Cheers

Dear Deba and Geetali,

On behalf of the Asian Cricket Sixes Tour (ACST) and myself, I would like to thank you Deba for all your excellent work done on the Thailand International Cricket Sixes web-site and magazine. Particularly over the past 2 weeks the work done has been second to none, thank-you.

Also a special mention must go to a young woman who we have not had the pleasure to meet, Geetali Baruah.

She has also maintained this excellent co-operative performance which fully deserves credit.

Very well done indeed and thank-you.

Michael 'Cat' Maher, Chairman, Asian Cricket Sixes Tour

 POST-TOURNAMENT REACTIONS

“First of all thanks for the great tournament in Bangkok. All of us from the SCC really enjoyed the inaugural Thaliand Sixes. ...to be honest when it got down to the cup finals the standard was probably one of the highest we have seen in a long while. Great achievement for a first off tournament. Once again thanks for a fantastic weekend and we would love to come back next year.”

Jon Newton, President, Shanghai CC

“Just wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much we enjoyed the BKK sixes last weekend. It has got people talking here and people who declined to be a part of it, will I am sure wish to be included in future events.

The whole weekend was spot on, from the hotel and the excellent support regards to transport to the running of the event itself. Both days of cricket were extremely well run and played in good spirit, allowing for lots of good banter both on and off the field. The evening functions were both excellent, particularly the Saturday night at the crossbar, good food, good fellowship and free beer, what more can one ask for?

I look forward to the next event that we will be part of.”

Lee Keohane, Rough-Edged Gents

“I would just like to thank you once again for a splendid tournament that was most enjoyable. I have been to numerous similar tournaments, and I must congratulate you on the way everything was organized. Our entire team had a great time. Thanks very much from the entire Etihad Airways cricket team.”

Anton du Preez, Etihad CC, Cup Winners

“On behalf of my entire team I take this opportunity to thank you and ACST for giving us such a wonderful opportunity to be part of such a good cause, ‘Friendship through cricket’.”

Mohammed Zaheer, Etihad CC, Cup Winners

“Just want to say that on behalf of the Jakarta boys we had an absolute ball. The cricket was good fun and enjoyed getting involved. Hopefully can get a bit of momentum started to get to a few more tours.

Thanks for your guys’ efforts, it’s really appreciated that all the hard work comes off and is enjoyable for all.”

Robbie Whiteman, Jakarta Rebels

“Thank you so much for your kind words. I will certainly share them with the team. We all enjoyed the planning for the sixes and looking forward to the next one!!”

Andrew J Wood, General Manager, Chaophya Park Hotel & Resorts

“...it was an excellent first event, and generally played in the right spirit. Some cracking matches, good fun and good functions. I am sure that I speak for the Southerners that played that we all enjoyed ourselves very much.”

Martin Peters, Southerners CC

“Thanks for Bangkok. It was an impressive first up tournament with no real apparent hiccups (apart from lack of light on last day). And I thought it was really well organised and run. A great venue with real grass to try to run on with the old legs and pretty good drainage for the rains. The hotel was good, although having stayed there numerous times before, I already knew it was. Congrats to all involved and I think it will grow to be quite a popular tournament.”
