Hello everyone, on behalf of the Asian Cricket Sixes Tour (ACST) I would like to offer a warm welcome to all players, spectators, officials, sponsors and supporters to this the 6th Annual Thailand International Cricket Sixes Tournament 2013, again being held at the Harrow International Ground in Bangkok. What an exciting weekend it is going to be!

The tournament is being run in conjunction with the Southerners Cricket Club of Bangkok. I would like to give special thanks to Vaughan McClear and to all club members for their tremendous effort and support, without which the staging of this tournament would not be possible. I’d like to also offer my sincere thanks to the Harrow International School for allowing us to use their lovely ground to stage this event again. As is normal at our tournaments we have a wide array of teams who create a truly international event and atmosphere. Faces both old and new are joining us from India, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Singapore, England, Kuwait, China, Australia and Thailand amongst others. I speak most sincerely when I feel a real honour to have so many of you as good friends. At the end of the day this is what our tournaments are all about – friendship, camaraderie and fun among people with a passion for cricket and a good time.

On behalf of the ACST, I would also like to give huge thanks to Khun Dheerawat Bhunlapiwat, (General Manager) and Khun Doungrat Tiensermpong (Central Reservations Manager) of our major tournament hotel sponsor, the Chaophya Park Hotel. Without these wonderful people, this event simply could not happen. Here we are now proudly celebrating our 6th Annual Tournament.

Thank you also to San Miguel Beer for their much-appreciated ongoing support. This has become very much the Cricket Beer in Asia over recent years. San Miguel Light, with a wedge of Lemon or Lime, what an excellent tropical drink to be enjoyed at the cricket.

A special thanks has to go to our excellent team of Tournament Officials and helpers. Kindly check the write-ups for them in the tournament magazine. Again they have given their time up so that we can all have a brilliant time in Bangkok enjoying ourselves. The umpires, scorers and other officials performing the many tasks in making a top event.

Thanks for the continued brilliant support to Brian Walker (Cross-Bar) and to Steve Hatherall (Moonshine Joint / Jungle Jim’s Bar) for helping out with functions and keeping the guys all fed well with good food and their many excellent drinks.

These are exciting times at ACST and I would like to thank Ian “Reds” Liddell, Saurav Chatterjee and Brad Tarr for their continued great work for this event and also ACST generally. Our Thailand ACST Co-ordinator, Khun Akarin Hiranpruecks has again done a brilliant job providing us with excellent on the ground work to support the event from Thailand with pre event work. Also a special welcome back to Rob “Chops” Bernard, with his team and brilliant help pretournament and with his media reports.

Thanks also goes to Imran Idrees of Imran Sports for his continued support to the ACST and especially this year with his help of cricket balls. Also thanks to the Keith “Chef” Roddam for his help bringing us some excellent food to enjoy over the weekend.

Finally I wish everyone a wonderful few days in Bangkok with good luck on the field and fun off it in the spirit of the great game of cricket. Here’s to a successful 6th Annual Thailand International Cricket Sixes 2013, have a ball.

Yours in Cricket!
